DISASTER: UN Chief Ban Ki-moon called the recent Pakistan flood “the worst disaster he had ever seen.” 20 million people are said to be affected by the flooding, which caused massive crop losses. One Red Cross worker noted that there is essentially “no” clean drinking water in the area. [CBS]

STAR WARS: George Lucas, speaking at the Star Wars Celebration V fan festival this past weekend, spoke with The Daily Show host Jon Stewart for well over an hour about the beloved franchise. [Geek Gestalt]

TRADE: North Korea may be paying a $10 million debt owed to the Czech Republic since the Soviet-era …with twenty tons of ginseng, a plant “said to combat lethargy, arthritis and impotence.” Ah, the Czechs: always known for their energetic, sexual ways (NSFW). [Yellow Menace]

SPACE: A Japanese probe which traveled for seven years has finally returned to Earth. It latched onto an asteroid billions of kilometers out into space, and intended to collect dust specimens in the hopes of learning about our cosmic origins. [Yahoo! News]

SEX: A new study suggests that teen sex does not lead to bad grades …as long as you’re in a committed relationship. Also as long as you’re not a nymphomaniac, and pine for violently physical sex every hour of your waking life. [Newser]

VIDEO after the break: Chen Haiwen and other fellow photographers traveled across China for a year to complete an impressive series of the nation’s 56 officially recognized ethnic groups in their traditional costumes. [YeinJee’s]

But we mustn’t forget the 730,000 Chinese inhabitants from unrecognized ethnic groups as well!
