The Fight For Megan Fox’s Role In Transformers 3

4 Jun 2010

I’m sure you’ve all heard already that sultry superstar Megan Fox was recently axed from Michael Bay‘s upcoming Transformers 3. Fox, who played Shia Lebouf’s love interest Mikaela Banes, will be replaced by British model Rose Huntington-Whiteley. This was recently confirmed on Michael Bay’s official blog.

Huntington-Whiteley, of course, has no formal training, though she does reassuringly hold one acting credit — a Victoria’s Secret commercial, also directed by Bay. I thought I’d never see the day…but I kind of want Fox back.

What some of you may not know is, before Huntington-Whiteley’s role was finalized, others had auditioned. Most famously, The Hills star Heidi Montag, who recently called Bay an “artistic brilliant genius,” posted on Facebook a video which demonstrates her gunslinger training from American Defense Enterprises. See this work of art below:

Hilariously, Montag tweeted the video to what she thought was Michael Bay’s Twitter account. I’m not sure if Bay ever saw her shooting wildly at the paper targets, and we can be glad about that.

But, what we should mourn is what could’ve been. Sir Ben Kingsley, whose recent track record has included highs and lows (The Wackness versus Prince of Persia), perhaps thought he could revitalize his career as a buxom leading lady. See the video, aired on Lopez Tonight, below:

The film will be made for $200 million, and will reportedly involve another trek around the globe, in locations such as Russia as well as an undisclosed African country. The cast includes Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and the recently cast Patrick Dempsey.

Transformers 3 is set to be released on July 1, 2011.
